Welcome to Financially Alert, my name is Michael Quan and I am here to help you achieve your financial goals (and dreams!). I understand that navigating the world of personal finance can be overwhelming, but don’t worry, I am here to guide you every step of the way.

My mission is to empower individuals and families to take control of their finances, achieve financial independence, and live the life they truly desire through personalized coaching, education, and mentorship.

Becoming Financially Alert is all about growth. It’s learning the language of money. How to use it as a tool to get what you want, when you want it. And, it’s about building a life of freedom for you and your loved ones.

Money Beliefs

Have you ever considered that every conscious action you take with your money is based upon a belief?  Money beliefs are so powerful, and we learn and adopt them typically when we’re very young.  How did you interact with money at an early age?  Does it affect the way you treat or view money today?

We Are Drowning

Today, more than ever, we are drowning in a global epidemic of consumerism.  We want more, better, faster, and we want it NOW.  It doesn’t matter how much something costs as long as we can finance it into the future.

BUT, that financial debt is pulling us into modern-day slavery as we need to work harder and harder to escape the whirlpool of debt.

It’s Time to Dehypnotize Yourself

There is another way… a path to freedom that is less traveled, but open to all.  It’s the path to FI, or financial independence, where you intentionally direct your money to create more money.  It’s a world where you can finally separate your dependence on this silly piece of paper called a dollar and pursue your heart’s passion freely.

My hope with this site is to give you insight into the FI world so that you too can join if you choose to.  If I can do it, then you certainly can too.  Check out my Finding FI interview series to read about other people’s path to FI (financial independence).

Finding FI (Financial Independence)

What’s the first step you may ask?

You’re already doing it.  You’re learning that there’s another possibility with your money and that YOU are in control, not your money.  When you make this shift in belief, you open yourself up to learn the necessary strategies to reach FI (financial independence).

What else is required?

Finding FI (financial independence) is a marathon, not a sprint.  It takes a little time to educate yourself, and then it times to take massive action.  ACTION is what will ultimately push you towards the goal line.

The truth is the hardest part is getting started. Once you’ve generated momentum, the rest is easier than the start.  Persistence is still required and creating a team to run with you makes it all that much easier.

How is My Site Different?

Well, there is certainly no shortage of PF (personal finance) blogs!  And, there are some really fantastic ones out there that I follow.  The best thing is everyone has a unique story and perspective.

I’ll share my story about how I took an early retirement in my mid-thirties.  Learn about the shortcuts I uncovered, my bumbling failures, and how I track my ongoing financial independence journey with complete transparency!

If you’re not sure where to begin, I’d start with these:

We will also dive into the psychology of money.  I find it fascinating to understand WHY you do what you do with our money.  And finally, HOW do you make lasting changes financial changes to build wealth consistently.

Don’t Forget

Becoming financially alert is NOT a destination.  It’s a journey.  It’s a story about YOU.

It may take you some time to reach financial independence, but it doesn’t mean you can’t live life to the fullest along the way (even on a budget).  Never take for granted what you already have and make it a point to give back wherever you may be.

As long as you are living your life to your highest potential, with purpose, and gratitude – congratulations… you are already wealthy.  The rest is just a game.  Let’s play!
